wants

So I’m sitting here… hanging out with my obese cat, googling things, reading blogs, procrastinating on my homework, I start thinking.
Oh man.
I REALLY WANT TO GO TO PORTLAND! SOON! I love that place. And, it’s only 2 hours away. And, my husbands best friend lives there and so we have a pretty good excuse to go. And, I just love it there.
I really do. I secretly want to live there, but husband doesn’t want to live there. he’s already lived there. I am so jealous.

My poor cat has fleas. We got her a flea collar. And bathed her. and cleaned everything. I have no idea how she got fleas.

anyways, I just want to go to portland. and I want to finish my homework. I really am wanting a baby right now, too. weird, right?
I also do not want to go to my church meeting in 10 minutes…

I am excited that it’s almost the weekend. My best friends bachelorette party is Saturday. In Seattle. It’s going to be AMAZING!

see you tomorrow! :D

lost for words

today, my in-laws received some very sad a news. a boy from our ward passed away from cancer. He is 17 years old. 4 of my siblings-in-law are, of course, upset because they knew him and could call him a friend.
I wish that I knew more about this boy. I only knew his name, that he was in our ward, and it wasn’t even until a month or so ago that I even knew he was sick.
I feel ashamed of myself because I didn’t know this boy. He is very well liked, and will be extremely missed. I know I don’t have any good excuse to have met  him, though. In Church I work with the nursery aged kids, and I don’t know any of the teenagers except my in-laws. It’s not like my old ward where I knew everybody and everybody knew me.

Of course, silly me, when my sisters are crying, I said “it’s going to be okay.” Why I said that, I don’t even know. Because for them, right now, it’s not okay. My mouth couldn’t even stop the words from coming out. I was thinking it, and then I blurted. ugh, I hate it when I do that. one sister even told me, “that’s the last thing we want to hear right now.”

I am sad that a boy who is so young is no longer here. But I know, without a shadow of a doubt, that he will be waiting for all of his friends and family on the other side.

It’s a sad day. A very sad day for everybody who know this young man. And a sad day for those who didn’t know him, but know people who are affected by his passing.

Dinner

Yesterday, Josh and I went out to dinner. It was so nice. We haven’t gone out to dinner in a very, very long time. We might order a pizza every once and a while, but actually going to dinner never happens.

There was something special about this dinner, though. We got to have dinner with a very good friend of mine. His name is Chaz. He lives in Boston, but he is here in the good ol’ Pacific Northwest for a family event. It was SO good to see him! He is pretty awesome. One of the nicest people I know.

In other news, my sister-in-law Heather decided to dress me up for school. I look pretty cute. Only my pants and tank top {and undies of course} are mine. Everything else belongs to sister Chelsey who is in Provo for a few weeks. We like it when she’s gone because then we can wear her clothes. Yay us! :o) She always has the cutest clothes.

Anyhoo… that’s it for tonight! Have a great day! See you tomorrow! :o)

Prepare to be amazed!

This is what I did Sunday night, at way too late o’clock.

CIMG3769CIMG3772
CIMG3773CIMG3770
1: Showing off my awesome parrot costume
2: Bowing … Japanese style {we watch a lot of Naruto… they do that a lot}
3: Flying away
4: Showing off my parrot guns to my husband

Sorry about the mess.
The story behind this is… at home the costume bucket is out and the kids are picking their costumes for Halloween! Everybody has been putting on the parrot costume, even though it’s way too small for everybody except the two little girls. I was starting to get a little jealous so I tried it on. It was really late at night and I was so tired, and really silly feeling so my sister-in-law {whose leg and foot you can see in pic # 3} and I decided to be weird. Actually it was just me, and my sister just laughed a lot.
Josh was a good sport, though, and even took pictures of me. I didn’t feel like editing them because I am lazy… Oh well. :o)

Anyways: I am really tired today. I find out what my score is on my math test tomorrow. I don’t have english for the rest of this week, and all of next week {yay!}. I also get to see my very best friend tonight at dinner! I am SO excited. It’s been a year since we have seen each other. Blah. Josh and I are going to see him at Red Robin and eat lots of yummy foods and… stuff.

Have a good night!

Today!

I was emailed about my ten o’clock class. It is cancelled for the day. HOORAY!! now, I only have two classes today instead of three. That means only 3 hours of school instead of 6.5! Best.Day.Ever.

Josh and I are switching to pre-paid cell phones. We just bought them online. It’s so much cheaper for us right now. And when we have enough money saved we will be able to switch back to at&t. maybe even get a … smart phone! Josh has his iPhone, but he said he can do without it for a while. :o) I was going over how much we will save by switching to pre-paid. every three months will cost us about 160 dollars. Right now, Josh and I pay almost 220 every month for our phone plan. In three months we will save something like 500 dollars. WHAT?! That’s crazy ridiculous! {and, it’s so expensive because his sister is on our plan, but that’s okay because she pays her bill… but it’s just way too expensive right now}. We are super excited. So at the end of the month we will have no more phone plan and we will only have pre paid cell phones. Maybe it will make it so I am not as addicted to my phone as much, right? I hope so.
{oh, and incase you wanted to know this, too… we got our phones from tracfone}

That’s pretty much it for today… nothing super exciting. I am dead tired, I just finished my homework and submitted my second big English assignment. :o) {I did way good on my first one, I hope I did well on this one, too!}

have a good night!

p.s. I have some awesome pictures I took of myself on Sunday night. I have to upload them, and then I am thinking I am going to put them on here. ha.ha.ha.

Yesterday

I only had one class.
But, I got to school 3 hours early so I could work on a homework assignment.
And study for my test that I had in my only class {I think I did alright}

I took said test, Josh picked me up, and I said ‘I am so hungry. feed me.’ so we went to Little Caesars and got a pepperoni pizza. I ate 4 slices in like 5 minutes. I was starving, I tell you! Then we took a nap. Yay naps!

Josh and I had family night with his family {it was a lesson about honesty… incase you wanted to know} and then we ate some fudge and went back down to our room to hide out. And have our own family time.
we watched Bleach. And folded laundry that hasn’t been folded for ages. Now it actually looks like we have clothes in our closet. yay us!

That was our day. It was fantastical.

Happy Friday!

Sorry, this is SO much later than I wanted it to be. :( And I wanted to blog yesterday but I got distracted by planning my best friends bridal shower. yay me!
I have been making crafts. I am absolutely NOT crafty. At all. But my sister-in-law, Lyndsey found this cute and easy tutorial on pinterest. So we decided to try it.

imageIt looks so easy… but really, it took me like an hour to do those. And they really don’t look anything like them. I will post pictures sometime next week. I am just way too tired to do anything right now haha. Liz’s colors are a deep purple and like… an olive green? They look really good together. {I use the ? because I can’t remember if it really is an olive green or not}
Anyhoo, it’s been fun getting ready for her little party tomorrow. I baked and helped clean {a little} I did laundry {and that has nothing to do with the party at all} and one of my other friends made some special cookies for the party, too! I will post those later as well.
Do you want to know what’s made me happy this week?!

10 Things That Have Been Making Me Smile This Week

1. Doing good in school! I am so excited about that. Seriously.
2. Being able to plan this party and knowing that it will be over tomorrow {hehe}
3. Being called L squared by my math teacher. Totally random. But awesome.
4. Buying things at the dollar tree!!! THAT PLACE IS AMAZING!
5. Spending time with three of my sisters-in-law. Amazing. I love them so much.

7. Sudafed. Thank you whoever invented that. I couldn’t have gotten through this week without you!
8. Being reminded that an old friend is coming home from Boston next week. Oh yeah. It’s going to be amazing!

It’s that time of year!

Autumn. I seriously love this time of year. It’s a great time to play in the leaves, and to drink hot apple cider and to read a really good book in the window seat looking out at all the trees!image
I found this picture when I googled “gig harbor autumn.” Gig Harbor is my old home town. It is BEAUTIFUL. So ridiculously beautiful. And seriously, this really is what it looks like in the fall.
I clicked on the picture and was taken here. She is so talented!!! Very good at capturing the wonderfulness that is Gig Harbor. I miss it so much!!!

News! Our household is going vegetarian. I already took that leap, but {unfortunately} I started eating meat again after the fair ended because I was severely mal-nourished and I needed something, really anything, in my body that could actually keep me alive. So, I have been eating a little meat. I am glad to start eating vegetarian again, though.
It started because our little sister, Libby has a heart condition {I will tell that story someday} and eating meat is bad for her, and so mom-in-law has decided to make the change. Of course, we will have meat in the house a little bit because some people aren’t able to eat this way. Mostly my husband because he is allergic to the whole wide world.

I still have no idea what’s going on with me.  I am hoping that everything will be back to normal soon. But we are still TTC and having oh so much fun.
PLUS I have another story to tell about that… on another day.

Gumby!

This was the very first clay animation video by the creator of Gumby. Did anybody watch that show?! I did, it was amazing!

Over Achiever?

{for some reason achiever does not look like it’s spelled correctly}

Today, I was called an over achiever by somebody I go to school with. that is not me. at.all. I am such a procrastinator it is ridiculous. but I decided that while I am at school, I needed to put my procrastinating ways aside and get my stuff done ASAP so I don’t have to stress and worry about it anymore. yay me! and because of that, I have good grades in my classes. So, maybe I am an over achiever. but only with school.

but on another note, josh and I are still trying to conceive. it’s so ridiculously hard. and now that I am doing school I almost feel like baby making should be put on the back burner {not the actual baby making itself, but actually trying to create a baby}. I know that I will not be able to concentrate on school if I get pregnant because I will be so excited about said baby. BUT whenever I start to think that way, my mind says, “NO LARA! don’t be silly. you should have a baby.” so we try and try and try. Anddddd it’s fine. and fun. and it really brings Josh and I closer together as a couple when we talk about our future family and baby stuff. it really does, we rarely disagree on baby things.
SO, I go to this website {well, a couple of them really…} thebump.com it’s really awesome. I enjoy it a lot, and there are all sorts of good things in there to read. But today there was an article that was emailed to me from that website about good advice on TTC. {trying to conceive} and I feel like I was really supposed to read that today. Here is one that I really enjoyed, and can totally relate to:
The best TTC advice I received was to realize that it can take even a healthy couple up to a year to conceive. If I hadn't learned that, I may have believed I was infertile after three months of trying because everyone else in my family got pregnant so quickly. I am now on cycle eight of TTC after coming off birth control pills, but I know that I am still well within a 'normal' time frame for getting pregnant.” – SarahL77
The above story is like the story of my life! My sister, and my mom, and even my sisters-in-law, have been able to get pregnant without really trying hard. It might take a month or two, but seriously people, I was/still sometimes am starting to think that there MIGHT be something wrong with me. But I don’t worry because I read things like this and it brings me hope. yay! hope!

I don’t think that I am pregnant, but I don’t really know what’s wrong with me… my ladies are hurting SO bad. I can barely wear a bra. I can’t even roll over in bed without wanting to gasp in pain. It’s totally weird. I did have my girly time and everything last month, it was 5 days late, and it lasted for my usual 7 days {I know. freakishly long}. But it was really a lot lighter than usual, only one “normal” day, that wasn’t even that normal. And now my ladies are hurting. So ridonculous.
I just had to share this little lovely piece of info because my blog is about trying to get pregnant, and my ladies are tied into that somehow, and maybe somebody somewhere out there who quite possibly reads my blog knows that the h-e-double hockey sticks I am talking about here. and why this is happening.

ANYWHO! have a great night!

p.s. I found this picture while googling random things. It made me laugh. I love Chuck Norris.image

This made me smile

I know that this is SUPER long and really tiny… but if you click here or on the picture itself you should be able to read it. It seriously made my morning. I am tired and sick and I laughed a lot harder than was probably necessary. My husband thought I was going crazy. :o)
Anyhoo I hope that all of you had a fantastical weekend. I did!

School, Work and a Sore Throat

Tomorrow is FRIDAY!!! I am so excited!!! :D this week has been fast and long. does that make sense?

School is good.
I am still trying to find a job, but I am working this Saturday for the same company that I worked at the fair with. Probably somewhere around 14 hours. Which will be nice. :o) Josh has been working a lot, and has been working in the morning, which he likes a lot.
Baby-sister has a sore throat and I think that she has passed it to both Josh and I because we have been dying with sickness.

I am hoping that this month something magical happens. Anything. Seriously. ANYTHING! I am desperate to get pregnant for some reason. I know that I have all the time in the world, for the most part, but I am just so eager and ready to get pregnant and start a family. It’s what I want the most in the world right now. Even more than becoming a Kindergarten Teacher.

I am happy for tomorrow, though. See ya then!

p.s. I had to share this picture of my best friend with her fiancée (getting married on Nov. 12!!!!! woot!)
Video call snapshot 5
I love them.

My weekend

was as follows: (starting on friday)
school
laundry
general conference
eat
more conference
eat dinner
watch the relief society broadcast because I missed it last week
sleep
wake up --- shower
eat breakfast
general conference
eat lots of snacks
more conference
watch a documentary that was actually really, really good. I cried.
relax with my husband {even though I pretty much had been doing that all weekend anyways}

Then I wake up on Monday… and I am coming down from my sugar high {because let me tell ya… I ate, and ate, and ATE all the sugar in the whole house. I feel so sick now}

It was a magical weekend, though. Full of lovely talks by the leaders of my Church. It was beautiful.
My favorite talk was this one for sure. He is just SO CUTE!

General Conference, Toddlers, and running!

Today is Saturday… and tomorrow is Sunday. In case you didn’t realize it… but they aren’t just any old Saturday and Sunday. This is one of TWO General Conference weekends. The first one is actually in April, this is the second one. General Conference is where all the members of our faith that are able to watch our Apostles and our Prophet and other members of the Church speak about a topic that they felt we needed to hear. Most of the time, I always feel like whichever topic they are speaking about, is directed right at me. And that’s probably because, no matter what, whenever General Conference is on I am always going through some sort of trial. Always. But anyways, I am super excited and I will keep really good notes about what they are talking about and probably share a couple of my favorite ones soon!

DSCN0623

Yesterday I got to go running with my sister, Chelsey. It was so nice. But before we went running, I went to visit her at her place of employment at the moment, which is nannying for a family whose parents are in Hawaii for two weeks. Wouldn’t that be so nice?! Yeah, it would be.
Anyhoo… they have a three year old boy. Who is to die for. Who never stops talking. And is the snuggliest little thing I have ever seen. He is so stinkin cute. And he latched himself onto me and we played and played and played until his sister got home from school, and then we played until it was lunch time, and then we played until it was time to go running (and feed the ducks in the pond. woohoo!) It was so fun. And by the time I had to go home to do laundry and some homework, he decided that we were going to get married. And let me tell you, it was the sweetest thing ever. He came and sat on my lap and said “I want to marry you.” and I almost died because it was so super cute.
It made me REALLY want to have a baby, though. Like more than ever. This month it didn’t happen because… like I said before, we were too busy and there just wasn’t enough thinking about babies. Between the fair and starting school there wasn’t enough time. I feel really bad, though. I sort of feel that if I had thought about it, and put in enough time to think about it and to spend time with my husband more when we actually had time together, then it probably would have happened. But I just didn’t want to think about it. I hardly ate for 17 days. I lost a lot of weight unhealthily. For me, the month of September was not a good pregnancy month. But, never fear. October is here, and it’s going to be a GREAT month. Pregnant or not.
Anyways, Chelsey and I went running, and it’s been far too long since we have been able to do that. A whole month. Thank you fair. And it was awesome. My leggies were so happy to go running again. I feel healthier already. :o)

It’s conference time. I am SO EXCITED!!! YAYAYAYAYAYAY!!!! Have a good weekend everybody!!!
